In Star Trek: The Next Generation, Captain Jean-Luc Picard is command of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. The Enterprise-D continues the mission that the original U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 started, to explore strange new worlds and to seek out new live an civilizations and to boldly go where no one has gone bofore. This series takes place in the 24th Century and continues the adventures of the original Enterprise crew. During the Enterprise-D's mission, the crew would encounter new races such as the Ferengi, Cardassians, Borg, and the Bajorans. In the 24th Century, the United Federation of Planets is now at peace with the Klingon Empire, but are still in conflict with the Romulan Star Empire.
